Ethics
Compassion — one of the Four Brahmaviharas. The wish for all beings to be free from suffering. In Mahayana Buddhism, karuna is a defining quality of the bodhisattva and is inseparable from wisdom (prajna). The union of wisdom and compassion is the hallmark of the enlightened mind.
