The awakening mind — the aspiration to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings. In Mahayana Buddhism, generating bodhicitta is the entry into the bodhisattva path. Two aspects: (1) aspiration bodhicitta (the wish to attain enlightenment) and (2) engagement bodhicitta (the practice of the six perfections).
