The Tipitaka (Three Baskets) is the complete Theravada Buddhist canon in Pali. It comprises the Vinaya Pitaka (monastic rules), Sutta Pitaka (discourses of the Buddha), and Abhidhamma Pitaka (philosophical analysis). The Pali Canon is the oldest surviving complete Buddhist scripture, preserved by the Theravada tradition of Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia.
