Dukkha

Dukkha · Duhkha · Doctrine

Suffering, unsatisfactoriness, or stress — the first Noble Truth. Three types: (1) ordinary suffering (pain, grief, distress); (2) suffering due to impermanence (even pleasure is unsatisfactory because it changes); (3) suffering of conditioned existence (the aggregates themselves are dukkha). Understanding dukkha is the entry point to the Buddhist path.
